Mother’s Day Portraits

Okay, so it was actually the day before Mother’s Day, but everyone was in town to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Cassandra contacted me because she wanted portraits with her mom, aunt, and grandmother. I have a soft spot for grandmothers, since I had two of the best. Lois even reminds me a lot of my Grammie Gladys.

They came up with the idea of doing the portrait session at the Merry Go Round in Balboa Park. How fun!

Here’s Lois and Cassandra , as we’re about to get under way.

We’re moving now! The light on her face is beautiful.

I just love this one. Lois grew up in San Diego and told me about riding the Merry Go Round as a girl.

Look who caught the gold ring!

And mother and daughter.

Active portrait sessions like this are a great way to show the connections between people. And for those who might be a little uncomfortable with a more traditional, static portrait session this is a great way to relax and make it fun.

If you have an idea for a family activity that would make for some great portraits, give me a call!
